Program Overview

This comprehensive two-year training program provides a comprehensive instruction in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical experience. As the only ITA-approved CBT certification program offered in English, it is designed to meet the needs of English-speaking mental health professionals in Israel. Taught by top CBT practitioners and instructors, the program covers essential and advanced techniques for effective therapy, including structured interventions, case formulation, and treatment planning. Participants will gain a deep understanding of evidence-based CBT and how to apply it to a variety of mental health challenges.

 

​In addition to the classroom component, participants will be engaged in experiential learning, clinical supervision, and seeing private clients within JTC in order to best develop their clinical skills. The course follows ITA certification guidelines, ensuring that graduates meet professional standards for CBT practice in Israel. Whether you are looking to expand your therapeutic toolkit or pursue official CBT certification, this program offers the structured guidance and expert instruction needed to advance your career.

Program Summary

Instruction

Over two years, participants will attend 255 hours of academic instruction, over the course of 60 weeks. Instruction will be comprised of classroom lectures as well as experiential learning, in order to provide an immersive learning experience.

Experience

Over the course of the program, participants will be provided with up to eight individual clients to be seen within the Jerusalem Therapy Center. Participants are required to fulfill a minimum of 100 client hours over a two-year period.

Supervision

Each participant will receive supervision provided by ITA certified clinicians. Over the course of the two-year program, participants will receive 75 hours of group and individual supervision.

Meet Our Instructors

Yair Berko, LMSW

Yair Berko, is the clinical director of the Jerusalem Therapy Center. Yair has vast experience in both clinical practice and leadership in the Israeli public health system. He is a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist specialist, senior supervisor, and lecturer at the Israeli Association of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. In addition to his public health roles, Yair maintains a private practice in Jerusalem.

Heidi Weissman, PhD

Dr. Heidi Weissman received her PhD. in Clinical Health Psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. Dr. Weissman serves as a clinical instructor at the Jerusalem Therapy Center and she is a staff psychologist at Keren Gefen, a center for fertility-challenged women. Over the past ten years, she has taught CBT in multiple training programs and has been involved in PTSD research through Bar Ilan University.

Asher Strauss, PhD

Dr. Asher Strauss is a clinical psychologist and lecturer in the School of Behavioral Sciences & Psychology. Dr. Strauss completed his degrees in psychology at the Hebrew University. His research focuses on expanding cognitive and behavioral models for anxiety and depression disorders, in particular obsessive-compulsive disorders. Dr. Strauss maintains a private practice in Jerusalem.
